WikiPeople
WikiPeople is a wiki that features a page for each published author. Each page should be checked, edited and "authorized" by the author represented on the page. To do these operations you must be logged into the system. Presently, all authors that have published papers that are in PubMed (since 2002) are included.
Finding yourself in WikiPeople
You can search for your paper using your last name in the search box on the sidebar.
If a person could be unambiguously identified, the page will show their complete first and last name. Although sometimes it is not possible to unambiguously identify an author, then the page will show the last name plus the initials. The pages with the last name and initials must be checked for correctness. It is possible that due to the similarities between author names, the publications assigned to the page with only the last name and initials are written by more than one author. The erroneous publications should be removed and assigned to the correct author using the “Remove publication” button (on the main concept page, not on the edit page).
One person, two pages
If two pages are found (one with complete last and first name and one with last name plus initials) that both contain all the correct information for one author, they can be and should be merged to generate one page for that author. There is a merge tab to do this operation but the author must be first be logged into the system. From the page with the full last and first name, the author clicks on the merge tab and then follows the directions on the merge page.
